You can get to Lodz:
The Main Railway Station LODZ FABRYCZNA is situated in the city center from which you can easily get to every district of Lodz. From 15 October station will be rebuilding and all traffic will take over LODZ WIDZEW station which is located in the district of Widzew, about 10 minutes drive from the center of Lodz. From LODZ FABRYCZNA trains depart to Warsaw, Kraków, Radom, Częstochowa, Terespol, Koluszki and Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
The second Main Railway Station LODZ KALISKA is located west of the center of the city, in the district of Polesie. The station provides connections to all major cities of Poland such as: Warsaw, Cracow, Bydgoszcz, Katowice, Poznań, Wrocław, Szczecin, Gdańsk, Gdynia. From this station you can also easily reach the typical tourist destinations: Zakopane, Władysławowo, Hel, Łeba, Kołobrzeg.

You can get to LODZ FABRYCZNA railway station by city bus line: 51, 53, 54, 57, 60, 70, 86 or by tram 1, 5, 7, 12, 13.
You can get to LODZ WIDZEW railway station by city bus line: 75, 69, 77, 85, N1 (night bus).
You can get to LODZ KALISKA railway station by city bus line: 50,52,65,80,86,97,99 or tram number: 8,10,12,14.
Lodz has good bus connections with other cities. Coach services operate between Lodz and other cities in Poland and Europe. The Central Bus Station is situated close to the LODZ FABRYCZNA railway station. Central Bus Station will be located next to LODZ KALISKA station (during reconstruction the LODZ FABRYCZNA station).
You can also get to Lodz by plane with one of the cheap airlines.Lodz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport is a regional airport in central Poland, located about 6 km away from the Lodz city center. Before you decide to fly make sure that your country has a connection with Lodz. If you arrive to Lodz Airport you can take a taxi (in front of terminal 2) or a bus number 55 or 65 to the city center.

Public transport (MPK LODZ) consists of buses and trams. Public buses and trams offer quite frequent transport services not only in the centre of Lodz but in its districts as well. Before you choose this kind of transport you need buy a ticket. Ticket can be purchased from newsagents, newspaper stands, some groceries, post offices, ticket vending machines etc. You can also buy it from the tram/bus driver. There two type of tickets: time and period tickets.
NOTE: On boarding a tram/bus remember to validate your ticket in the ticket validator. Otherwise, you might be fined.
Night lines buses are marked with the letter "N" followed by a number e.g. N1. All night lines have a common stop in the center at Kościuszki/Zielona Street. To get more information about public transport click here: www.mpk.lodz.pl.
One of the best ways of travelling around Lodz, especially along the city's most famous Piotrkowska Street, is by trambus (A line). There are seven stops on the way of the trambus running from Liberty Square (Plac Wolnosci) to Pilsudskiego Avenue (Aleja Pilsudskiego), the most representative part of Piotrkowska Street. The journey takes about 25 minutes.
If travelling along the city's longest Piotrkowska Street, the best idea is to take a rickshaw. It is fast and cheap. A single ride costs PLN 2.50.
Lodz is cheaper city than Warsaw, Cracow and Wroclaw. Staying here you will spend less money than in the other major cities in Poland.
